Recent Success Stories
On July 10, 2025, officers located an Aggravated Robbery vehicle with the assistance of Flock cameras. The vehicle was taken earlier in the morning, and a traffic stop was attempted on the vehicle around Parkland Avenue. The vehicle failed to comply, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit traveled throughout various parts of Dayton. The vehicle then began traveling northbound on I-75. An officer was able to conduct a PIT maneuver on the vehicle, ending the pursuit in Miami County. The adult male driver was taken into custody without further incident. On June 28, 2025, a sergeant was on patrol around Lathrop Avenue and Hawker Street, checking the area where a stolen vehicle had just been captured on FLOCK cameras. Three juveniles were located walking away from the car, and upon seeing the sergeant, two of the three juveniles fled upon his approach. Multiple crews were quick to respond, and due to the fast response and a great job setting up a perimeter, a Kettering PD K9 was able to conduct a successful track and found the other two juveniles hiding in the bushes of a nuisance-abated property. A general assignment unit callout was initiated. All three juveniles were booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for receiving stolen property and other various charges related to the incident. On May 24, 2025, officers were dispatched on a shooting complaint in the 2200 block of Rugby Road. Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper left chest, and the victim was removed to MVH for further medical treatment. A diligent investigation revealed a potential suspect vehicle. With the assistance of Flock cameras and video footage from a neighbor, the suspect vehicle was identified. Officers from the Real-Time Crime Center were able to update crews on the vehicle's location using technology at their disposal, including Flock cameras. Additional agencies, including MCSO SWAT, OSP Aviation, and Dayton crews, were able to take the suspects into custody without incident on I-75 SB near the Middletown exit. The suspects were taken into custody one hour after the call was dispatched. The suspect was found to have a semi-automatic handgun, and a rear seat passenger was found to have fentanyl. All three occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Safety Building for interviews by the Violent Offenders Unit. On April 22, 2025, officers responded to the area of Troy Street and Stanley Avenue after a stolen Cadillac sedan triggered the Flock camera system. Upon searching the area, officers located the vehicle. In the process of the vehicle stopping and the occupants fleeing, the stolen vehicle struck two parked cars near the intersection of Hart Street and Grove Avenue. It should be noted that the four suspects from the stolen vehicle were all apprehended, and an Autel Scanning device was recovered inside the stolen vehicle. On April 7, 2025, an officer used Flock to find the silver Nissan Sentra that was involved in a shooting at East Fourth Street and South Main Street on April 1, 2025. The vehicle was located with the suspect and another occupant. A Violent Offender Unit Detective callout was made. Both subjects were transported to the Safety Building, and the vehicle was towed. The suspect was arrested for felonious assault. On March 27, 2025, an officer was notified of a stolen vehicle that had been captured on Flock cameras at the intersection of Stanley Avenue and Troy Street. After confirming that the vehicle was still listed as stolen, the officer began patrolling the area to locate the vehicle. The stolen vehicle was then captured on the Flock camera at the intersection of Stanley Avenue and Kuntz Road, at which time the officer located the vehicle. After additional officers arrived a traffic stop was made. The stolen vehicle was recovered, and the driver was arrested. On March 20, 2025, officers received a notification that a felonious assault suspect's vehicle was hit by a Flock camera traveling eastbound on Springfield Street near North Smithville Road. Officers checked the area and located the suspect sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of 403 North Cherrywood Avenue. The suspect was arrested for felonious assault and domestic violence. On March 18, 2025, multiple Dayton Officers and Detectives worked a VDI Operation in conjunction with OSP Aviation. The operation was successful, with some notable activity, including the recovery of a stolen vehicle, which was captured on Flock cameras and subsequently picked up by OSP Aviation on Leo Street, heading towards North Keowee Street. The vehicle fled from officers and ended up in an alley near Hart Street and Maryland Avenue. The driver fled from the vehicle, but he was located in a backyard and taken into custody. On February 28, 2025, officers were notified a sexual assault suspect vehicle hit on a Flock camera around West Siebenthaler Avenue and Catalpa Drive. Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of 2350 Catalpa Drive. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail. The vehicle was towed to the evidence crew garage. On February 3, 2025, an officer was dispatched on a missing person call. Upon arrival, it was learned that an adult male, age 75, who has Dementia and other health issues, had left the residence around 0930 hours to buy bird food and hadn't returned home. The officer obtained vehicle information, utilized Flock, and was able to locate areas where the vehicle had struck. The male was later located that evening in Licking County, Ohio. On January 30, 2025, officers and detectives from the Dayton Police Department conducted a VDI Operation in conjunction with OSP Aviation. During the operation, officers received a stolen vehicle alert from Flock cameras around North Gettysburg Avenue and North James H. McGee Blvd. Officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on Bluehaven Drive, and the three male juvenile occupants fled on foot. Officers apprehended all three. On January 24, 2025, officers were investigating a complaint of aggravated burglary. Flock cameras captured the suspect vehicle as it left the area. Officers then noticed another hit on a Flock camera, which indicated the vehicle was traveling back towards the victim's residence. Officers were able to locate the vehicle in a parking lot near the victim's residence. The suspect was in the vehicle at the time of his arrest. On January 13, 2025, crews were alerted by Flock to a stolen car at a local high school. Upon arrival, they located the car in the lot, unoccupied. With the assistance of school officials, surveillance video was obtained of the three occupants who were subsequently identified by staff. On January 12, 2025, officers received a Flock alert on a stolen vehicle and observed it traveling westbound on Germantown Street. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and the driver was placed under arrest. On January 9, 2025, officers responded to a Flock alert on a stolen vehicle in the area of 119 North James H. McGee. Officers located the vehicle, and two arrests were made. On December 19, 2024, officers were alerted to a Flock hit for a stolen vehicle. Officers responded to the area and were able to locate the vehicle on Hollier Street. The vehicle stopped at Bartstow Avenue, and two of the four occupants bailed on foot. The other two occupants were immediately apprehended. Both occupants who fled on foot were also apprehended. On December 2, 2024, with the assistance of surveillance video as well as Flock and ALPR, a suspect vehicle was identified and located in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on November 25, 2024. The suspect was arrested. On November 26, 2024, Dayton PD and OSHP Aviation conducted a Violence Deterrence Operation. Officers assigned to the operation, with the assistance of Flock, located an adult female whom the U.S. Marshals wanted for being an escaped prisoner. On November 22, 2024, officers conducting an Auto Theft Deterrent operation observed an Aggravated Robbery vehicle. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, at which time it fled. The vehicle was initially able to elude capture due to its reckless driving. With the aid of unmarked detective vehicles and FLOCK cameras, officers were able to locate the vehicle in a parking lot in the 4200 block of North James H. McGee Boulevard. Officers located the driver, and an arrest was made. On November 18, 2024, crews were dispatched on a child abuse call. Upon arrival, crews located the caller with two juvenile victims. A detective callout was made to assist in the investigation. A broadcast was made for the boyfriend and the mother of the juveniles. The suspect's vehicle was found to have hit a Flock camera around Hoke Road and I-70. Clayton PD located the boyfriend and mom on a traffic stop and took them into custody. On November 7, 2024, officers from the patrol and detectives from the Violent Offenders Unit and Special Investigation Bureau participated in a Violence Deterrent Initiative (VDI) in conjunction with the Ohio State Patrol Aviation to deter, prevent, and arrest individuals for gun and drug crimes throughout the City of Dayton. During the operation, firearms and two stolen vehicles were recovered, and six felony arrests were made. A vehicle that had fled from officers earlier in the day was caught on the Flock camera around Troy and Stanley. The vehicle was located, and an arrest was made. On October 22, 2024, Huber Heights Police conducted a traffic stop on a stolen Kia out of Columbus in the 4400 block of Brandt Pike, which had been caught on Flock cameras throughout Dayton and Montgomery County. During the traffic stop, the Kia rammed an HHPD cruiser, which initiated a pursuit. During the pursuit, the Kia struck another vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Salem Avenue. The pursuit ended when the suspects fled on foot, at which point they were apprehended. On October 15, 2024, officers were dispatched to an aggravated burglary involving multiple armed suspects. The victims were robbed of their vehicle keys, phones, and money, with one victim struck but declining medical attention. The suspects fled in a stolen 2007 Black Jeep Cherokee, heading west on Xenia Avenue. Flock cameras were used to locate and recover the vehicle. On September 30, 2024, officers were following up on several Flock hits for a stolen 2006 Pontiac Torrent when they located it in the parking lot of 5250 North Dixie Drive. The vehicle was occupied, and an arrest was made. On September 23, 2024, officers observed a stolen vehicle that had been recently captured on a Flock camera. The vehicle was traveling east on W. Washington Street and was ultimately located at the A&B Scrap yard. Two adult occupants were detained and transported to EPD South to be interviewed by detectives. the iIn nterviews, the driver was arrested On September 22, 2024, crews responded to a shooting where a male victim was found with a gunshot wound, transported to the hospital, and later pronounced deceased, with multiple nearby residences also struck by gunfire, leading to a Homicide Unit callout. Flock cameras were used to identify the suspect's vehicle. On September 16, 2024, Flock cameras detected a stolen vehicle on Stanley Avenue that had been reported during a robbery three days earlier. The suspect was spotted at a gas station, where he attempted to flee on foot, discarded a firearm, and was apprehended. On September 16, 2024, a Flock fixed-site ALPR alerted to a vehicle involved in an aggravated robbery. A pursuit was initiated, but the vehicle eluded officers. The vehicle was later recovered. On September 13, 2024, a juvenile suspect in a vehicle provoked another juvenile to fight and brandished a handgun while fleeing the scene near a career center. The vehicle and potential suspect were identified with the assistance of deputies and Flock cameras, and the investigation is ongoing. On September 7, 2024, Flock cameras helped detectives identify the suspect vehicle in a homicide at Summit Square apartments, leading to the suspect's arrest. On September 3, 2024, Flock alerted officers to a stolen vehicle from Scioto County on Main Street. The driver attempted to evade capture by parking in the Convention Center garage but was quickly apprehended, and the vehicle was recovered. On August 27, 2024, Flock cameras played a crucial role in assisting detectives in locating the suspect vehicle involved in the homicide on Fairview Avenue, significantly aiding the investigation. On August 13, 2024, Flock cameras aided in the pursuit of a vehicle involved in an aggravated robbery on Wayne Avenue. The pursuit concluded with a successful pursuit intervention technique and tire deflation device deployment, resulting in the suspect's arrest and the vehicle's recovery. On August 6, 2024, a stolen vehicle triggered alerts on multiple Flock cameras as it traveled through several jurisdictions. Over the past few days, the vehicle had evaded law enforcement efforts in these areas. Upon receiving the alert, Dayton Police and Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) units coordinated a saturation of the area. The vehicle was subsequently spotted entering the Greenwich Village area. A tire deflation device was successfully deployed, leading to the recovery of the vehicle. Two suspects were apprehended at the scene. On July 24, 2024, Car 17 received alerts from multiple Flock cameras about a stolen vehicle traveling through the City of Dayton. Car 17 successfully located the vehicle and coordinated the response, leading to the recovery of the vehicle and the apprehension of the suspect. On July 24, 2024, the Dayton Police Department, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, the Ohio State Patrol Aviation unit, and several other agencies conducted a Grand Theft Auto (GTA) suppression operation. With the assistance of the Flock camera system, two stolen vehicles were recovered, and three individuals were apprehended. Overall, the operation resulted in the recovery of five stolen vehicles, the apprehension of nine individuals, and the recovery of four firearms. On July 21, 2024, Flock cameras detected a stolen vehicle parked and occupied at 912 Wayne Avenue. The vehicle was successfully recovered, and the suspect was apprehended. On July 12, 2024, Flock cameras identified a stolen vehicle involved in a shooting on North Kilmer Street. The vehicle was recovered unoccupied. On July 10, 2024, Flock cameras alerted to a stolen vehicle in the area of Xenia Avenue and McClure Street. The stolen vehicle was recovered, and the suspect was apprehended. On June 26, 2024, officers responded to a shooting at 220 Park Manor Drive involving a juvenile victim. A suspect was identified, and their vehicle was located after being observed by FLOCK cameras as it left the area. On June 20, 2024, the Flock camera at Washington Street and Veterans Park activated after detecting aolen license plate attached to a box truck. EEnEnglewood responded to the area, located the box truck, and apprehended three suspects. On June 5, 2024, Flock cameras detected an Aggravated Robbery vehicle. A pursuit was initiated, and three suspects were apprehended. On June 3, 2024, a female victim was kidnapped by five male subjects. The suspect vehicle was later located on Flock Cameras within the city. It was discovered that the suspects were family members trying to return the victim to Tennessee. The victim declined to pursue charges. On May 22, 2024, Flock cameras located and identified multiple vehicles driven by the suspect involved in a homicide on Shaftsbury Road, leading to the suspect's sususpect'spprehension On April 6, 2024, Flock cameras assisted in tracking a Homicide suspect's vehicle. This led to the arrest of the suspect in Harrison Township. On April 3, 2024, Flock cameras assisted in identifying a suspect vehicle being utilized by a homicide suspect. This led to the arrest of the suspect. On March 19, 2024, crews responded to an Armed Robbery of a vehicle on Wayne Avenue. Accessing the Flock system, the vehicle was alerted in Miami Township shortly after the robbery. This led to the arrest of two suspects. On March 8, 2024, a vehicle used in an aggravated robbery was captured on the Flock cameras. Crews located the vehicle at the intersection of West Third and North Gettysburg Avenue. This led to the arrest of two suspects. On March 1, 2024, the Flock system was accessed by detectives investigating a Felonious Assault, Kidnapping, and Domestic Violence case, which occurred on 2-26-24 at a United Dairy Farmers within the city. This led to the identification of the suspect vehicle, arrest of the suspect, and safe recovery of the victim in Lima, Ohio. On February 27, 2024, Flock alerted on a stolen vehicle in the area of First Street and Keowee Street. At 1648 hours, a traffic stop was initiated at Grove Street and Leo Street. One suspect was arrested, and the vehicle was recovered. On February 16, 2024, a Flock camera alerted to a stolen car at Stanley Avenue and Route 4. After canvassing the area, the vehicle was located. Two suspects were arrested in the vehicle, and illegal drugs were recovered. On February 4, 2024, crews were dispatched to investigate an Assault, Kidnapping, robbery, and Theft complaint that occurred on Gateway Drive. The Flock system was accessed, identifying the suspect vehicle and suspect. Investigation is ongoing. On January 17, 2024, a Flock camera alert led to the identification and location of a suspect vehicle involved in a felonious assault, resulting in one arrest. On January 14, 2024, a suspect vehicle linked to an aggravated burglary was located thanks to a Flock camera alert, resulting in two arrests. On January 10, 2024, a Flock camera helped locate a vehicle in Trotwood, Ohio, used in multiple thefts in the city. The vehicle was discovered to have a fraudulent registration and was reported stolen from Moraine, Ohio. A possible suspect has been identified; the investigation is ongoing. On January 9, 2024, the Flock system alerted to a vehicle driven by a missing adult from Dayton, Ohio, in Goschenen, Indiana. The vehicle and the missing adult were successfully located. On January 7, 2024, a Flock camera helped solve two aggravated robberies at Family Dollar stores by identifying the suspect vehicle, leading to an arrest. On January 3, 2024, a stolen vehicle linked to a robbery at a McDonald's was located and intercepted thanks to a Flock camera alert, resulting in two arrests. On December 12, 2023, a Flock camera alert led to the pursuit and arrest of a suspect in a domestic violence case, who threatened further violence and suicide by cop. On November 8, 2023, a vehicle was taken in an Aggravated Robbery, as alerted on Flock cameras. A pursuit was initiated, resulting in four arrests. On October 26, 2023, multiple suspects were arrested after the stolen vehicle they were operating was detected by Flock cameras. A firearm was recovered during the investigation. On October 11, 2023, a Flock camera alerted to the location of a suspect vehicle involved in a Rape/Felonious Assault/Kidnapping, leading to the arrest of the suspect. On July 12, 2023, a Flock camera helped solve a felonious assault investigation, identifying the suspect's vehicle at the time of the incident. The suspect later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 6 years in prison. On June 17, 2023, detectives accessed the Flock system to identify a vehicle used by a suspect fleeing the scene of a homicide. This information helped detectives track and arrest the suspect. On June 7, 2023, a Flock camera detected a vehicle involved in a homicide. After a pursuit, the suspect in the homicide was apprehended, and the vehicle was recovered.
