Recent Success Stories
A local resident reported their vehicle was stolen overnight. Residential surveillance was able to provide a description of a suspicious vehicle driving in the immediate area during the suspected timeframe of the theft. Detectives searched the FLOCK cameras for the same suspicious vehicle and were able to capture the license plate entering the City of Grandview Heights. The victim's vehicle was later found abandoned at a location in the City of Columbus. While conducting the investigation our detectives used the information provided by FLOCK and determined the victim's vehicle was found just a few houses away from the registered owner of the suspicious vehicle. Detectives conducted a "knock and talk" at the home and identified a suspect. The suspect admitted to stealing the victim's vehicle and being in possession of other stolen property. After a search warrant was executed at the home detectives seized stolen property and linked multiple theft offenses from other jurisdictions in the Central Ohio area. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Patrol officers received a hot list alert for a stolen vehicle entering the jurisdiction. They quickly located the vehicle and, after verifying the hot list entry, conducted a felony traffic stop. Two occupants were detained and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. The vehicle was recovered within 24 hours of being reported stolen and two suspects were arrested. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Detectives successfully used FLOCK cameras to investigate a missing/runaway juvenile that was attempting to leave the state with another juvenile from a neighboring community. Officers obtained a description of the vehicle the juveniles were believed to be traveling in. A FLOCK search supplied investigators with a vehicle image and timeline last seen in our City. A Be On The Lookout (BOLO) was forwarded to all law enforcement. The vehicle was detected by state troopers who were able to conduct a traffic stop and return the children to their respective families. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Patrol officers received a hot list alert for a stolen vehicle entering the jurisdiction through one of our business districts. The officers circulated the area and found the vehicle parked behind a building containing multiple closed businesses. The hot list alert was confirmed. Officers secured a perimeter around the building and began conducting surveillance. Three suspects were seen exiting the rear of one of the businesses and entering the stolen vehicle. Officers approached and detained them without further incident. Ultimately, arrests were made and one of the suspects had outstanding warrants in a neighboring jurisdiction for burglary and grand theft.
