North Liberty IA PD uses Flock Safety technology to capture objective evidence without compromising individual privacy. North Liberty IA PD utilizes retroactive search to solve crimes after they've occurred. Additionally, North Liberty IA PD utilizes real-time alerting of hotlist vehicles to capture wanted criminals. In an effort to ensure proper usage and guardrails are in place, they have made the below policies and usage statistics available to the public.

Data is used for law enforcement purposes only. Data is owned by North Liberty IA PD and is never sold to 3rd parties.
Prohibited Uses
Immigration enforcement, traffic enforcement, harassment or intimidation, usage based solely on a protected class (i.e. race, sex, religion), Personal use.
Access Policy
All system access requires a valid reason and is stored indefinitely.

Recent Success Story
Patrol officers received a report of a missing/runaway juvenile. Using Flock, officers were able to identify an involved vehicle. Subsequent investigation resulted in the juvenile being located safely more than 60 miles away just a few hours after she had been reported missing.
Recent Success Story
A patrol sergeant attempted to stop a suspect vehicle while responding to an assault call. The vehicle fled the stop, and the sergeant terminated the pursuit. Using Flock, the sergeant was able to identify the vehicle and further investigation led to the driver. The driver is facing several charges related to fleeing the attempted stop.
Recent Success Story
Officers used Flock to obtain the license plate of a vehicle that fled the scene of a personal injury accident. In less than ten minutes, officers were able to locate the vehicle and identify the driver, who has been charged in relation to the collision.
