On April 10, AIR 3 and officers from the Street Crimes Unit responded to a Flock hit for a felony vehicle that was wanted for evading Fremont PD the previous evening. The vehicle was found parked unoccupied in a department store parking lot. The suspect and passenger exited the building and entered the vehicle. A vehicle stop was attempted but the suspect vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle later pulled over to released the passenger and proceeded to flee again. Patrol officers did not pursue, however AIR 3 continued to track the vehicle. The vehicle got onto the highway where it collided with several vehicles before being disabled. The suspect fled on foot and was later taken into custody without incident by patrol officers. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen. The suspect was booked for PRCS violation, misdemeanor narcotics charge, evading police, and eight counts of assault with a deadly weapon. On May 15, AIR3 located a stolen vehicle via Flock system. As the Aircrew started broadcasting the suspects location, SCCSO deputies got behind the vehicle and initiated a vehicle stop. Aircrew switched to the SOs channel and took control of the stop, directing operations from the sky. As additional units were arriving on scene, the driver fled from the vehicle on foot. He was quickly apprehended with the assistance of an SO K9 and taken into custody. On May 23, AIR3 was notified of a stolen vehicle via Flock system. AIR3 located the stolen vehicle and a patrol unit initiated a vehicle stop. The suspect vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Patrol officers did not pursue and instead tracked the vehicle at a distance. AIR3 continued calling the locations for several minutes until the vehicle parked in a gas station parking lot. The driver ran from the vehicle on foot. AIR3 guided patrol units to the suspect's location where he was taken into custody. On May 27, AIR3 got a Flock hit for a stolen vehicle. AIR3 followed the suspect vehicle until it parked at a convenience store. Patrol units moved in and initiated a vehicle stop. Officers took two suspects into custody. One suspect was on active probation and was booked into jail. On March 17, the department helicopter, AIR 3, responded to a Flock alert for a stolen vehicle. AIR 3 located the vehicle parked at a 7-11 and then saw the suspect driver exit the 7-11 and enter the vehicle. AIR 3 tracked the vehicle until patrol officers caught up to it. Officers performed a vehicle stop and took the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect also had a warrant out of Santa Clara PD. On March 25, patrol officers located a stolen vehicle after being alerted by the Flock system. Upon attempting to stop the stolen vehicle, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Officers did not pursue the vehicle but utilized the assistance of the department helicopter, AIR 3, to keep a visual of the vehicles direction of travel. The suspect ultimately abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled on foot. The suspect then flagged down a passerby for a ride and entered their car. Officers conducted a vehicle stop on the passerby and the suspect fled on foot again. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and evading arrest. On February 3, the department helicopter, AIR 3, responded to a Flock alert of a stolen truck. AIR 3 located the vehicle unoccupied and parked. Later, two female suspects entered the vehicle and drove away from the parking lot. Patrol officers initiated a vehicle stop on the suspect vehicle, but the vehicle fled. Officers did not pursue. AIR 3 continued to monitor the suspect vehicle which was later involved in a motor vehicle collision. The two female suspects fled on foot from the scene but were detained by nearby arriving officers. The driver was booked into the county jail for multiple felony charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, evading, hit and run, and probation violation. The passenger was booked for possession of stolen property and narcotics charges. On February 5, the department helicopter, AIR 3, responded to a Flock alert for a felony vehicle that was wanted for evading. AIR 3 located the vehicle and tracked it until it parked in a residential neighborhood. Officers attempted an enforcement stop on the vehicle and the suspect fled on foot. Officers pursued on foot and eventually took the suspect into custody after a physical struggle. During the foot pursuit, the suspect tossed a Glock handgun onto the roof of the nearby residence before being taken into custody. The firearm was recovered and determined to be reported lost out of a neighboring jurisdiction. The Suspect also had a felony No Bail warrant for violating the terms of his Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS). The Suspect was booked into jail for multiple on-view gun charges, felony identity theft and violently resisting arrest. On February 7, the department helicopter, AIR 3, located a stolen vehicle after receiving a Flock alert. The suspect vehicle parked under a townhouse carport and the driver fled on foot before units arrived on-scene. The suspect then shed clothing and hid under a carport at a neighboring complex. AIR 3 guided patrol units to the suspects location. Upon contact, the suspect ran away and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. The Suspect was found to have multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants for possessing stolen vehicles, robbery, and brandishing a weapon. The suspect was booked into the county jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest and his outstanding warrants. On January 3, the Department helicopter, AIR 3, responded to a Flock hit on a wanted felony vehicle. The vehicle had a seizure warrant for evading a police officer, and for lost/stolen plates. The suspect exited the vehicle and entered a restaurant in a shopping center. AIR 3 crew broadcasted the suspects description and patrol officers arrived on scene and apprehended the suspect. The suspect had two outstanding felony warrants and the vehicle was determined to have been reported stolen. On January 11, the Department helicopter, AIR 3, responded to a Flock hit for a reported stolen vehicle. AIR 3 located the stolen vehicle getting onto the freeway and confirmed the vehicle was outstanding. The stolen vehicle came to a stop in a parking lot and the suspect walked away toward the back of a building./The helicopter guided patrol officers to the car and then to the suspect who was hiding behind an electrical box. Patrol officers took the suspect into custody and arrested him for the stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, narcotics, and a violation of felony probation. On January 26, two patrol officers received a stolen vehicle Flock notification. They located the occupied stolen vehicle pulling into a parking lot. They apprehended the occupants and retrieved a handgun from the glove compartment. The occupants were validated gang members from a neighboring jurisdiction. On December 11, 2023, officers were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle at a hotel. The victims vehicle was tracked using GPS and Flock ALPR cameras in the area. Officers observed a suspicious male running from the area where the vehicle was supposed to be. Officers detained the male and located the unoccupied, stolen vehicle. After identifying the suspect, it was discovered that he had been arrested a week prior for another stolen vehicle and was released on SORP (Supervised Own Recognizance Program). The suspect was transported to the Santa Clara County Main Jail and booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evasion and possession of a controlled substance. On December 14, 2023, the departments helicopter responded to a Flock hit for a stolen minivan. The departments helicopter tracked the vehicle until it parked in a wooded area. The two occupants fled from the vehicle and the aircrew guided patrol units to them. The driver and passenger suspects were taken into custody without incident. The driver had an outstanding no-bail felony warrant for his arrest. Additionally, several mail/shipping packages were located in the back of the van from multiple residential locations throughout the city. On December 15, 2023, the departments helicopter responded to a patrol officer requesting assistance for a vehicle that was driving at a high rate of speed. The departments helicopter went overhead and picked up the vehicle. The officer moved up and attempted a vehicle stop on the freeway. The vehicle fled and the officer did not pursue. The departments helicopter broadcasted updates viewed from overhead of the suspects driving recklessly throughout San Jose, narrowly avoiding several collisions. Officers trailed at a distance out of view until the suspect vehicle stopped. Four suspects fled on foot and all four were apprehended shortly after. On December 29, 2023, Officers were investigating a Flock hit for a stolen vehicle and found it unoccupied in a parking lot. The Officers surveilled the vehicle and within minutes, two suspects entered the vehicle and were detained. The driver fled on foot and was apprehended after a foot pursuit armed with a loaded 9mm ghost gun in his waistband. He was booked into jail for several felonies. On November 12, 2023, the departments helicopter was monitoring Flock and responded to an alert in District Charles for a stolen vehicle. The helicopter located the occupied stolen vehicle and tracked it while patrol units responded. The suspect vehicle began driving recklessly and ran red lights upon seeing marked patrol vehicles. The helicopter tracked the suspect vehicle while patrol followed at a distance. The suspect vehicle drove into District Lincoln where it left the roadway into Coyote Creek. The two occupants fled into the creek and hid under brush. The helicopter maintained constant visual of the suspects while setting containment and guiding a contact team to the hiding suspects. Both were then contacted and taken into custody without incident. On November 27, 2023, a carjacking at gunpoint occurred in a parking lot of a business. During the investigation, Flock cameras observed the stolen vehicle at several locations within the city. The suspect vehicle was located 90 minutes later. Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop, but the vehicle fled. Three officers initiated a vehicle pursuit due to the violent nature of the crime, the involvement of a firearm and the ongoing threat to the public. After three minutes, the vehicle pulled over and officers initiated a felony vehicle stop. The vehicle fled again, and the pursuit was re-initiated. The pursuit ended one minute later as the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot, where he was subsequently apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The suspect, a seventeen-year-old juvenile, was arrested in possession of a replica firearm. On November 27, 2023, the departments helicopter located an occupied stolen vehicle. A high-risk car stop was attempted, and the vehicle fled. The helicopter followed the vehicle until the suspect parked and fled on foot while jumping fences. Inside the vehicle, numerous rounds of live ammunition were located. The suspect was apprehended by perimeter units as he attempted to break the perimeter. The suspect was observed discarding a backpack, which was recovered and contained a replica firearm and more live ammunition. The suspect was booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle with prior convictions, evading a peace officer, felon in possession of ammunition, violation of probation, possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. On November 27, 2023, the departments helicopter was on patrol and responded to a Flock alert in District Robert for a stolen vehicle. The helicopter located the vehicle and tracked it while units responded to attempt a stop. Officers attempted a vehicle stop but the suspect failed to yield and fled. The helicopter tracked the suspect as he drove offroad into a park, ultimately abandoning his vehicle and fleeing on foot into a wooded area. Due to the difficult terrain and obstacles, officers were not able to pursue on foot. The suspect entered a dense foliage patch at the waters edge and attempted to hide. The suspect refused to follow officers commands, armed himself with a stick, and reached behind his waistband numerous times. Officers deployed a less lethal impact weapon but the suspect went deeper into the brush and disappeared from their view. The helicopter guided officers to the suspects location and they took him into custody. The suspect was found to have two felony warrants out of SJ and two misdemeanor warrants for intimate partner violence, assault with a deadly weapon, rape, and other serious crimes. On September xx, 2023 AIR3 was on a patrol flight and located an occupied stolen vehicle via a Flock hit. The suspect vehicle appeared to notice AIR3 was overhead and quickly parked in a residential area where the driver and passenger fled from the vehicle on foot. AIR3 coordinated with responding officers to capture the suspects. The driver was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, and narcotics related charges. The passenger was booked for two outstanding felony warrants. On September 24, 2023 AIR3 notified Patrol Officers of a Flock ALPR hit related to an occupied stolen vehicle driving in San Jose. AIR3 maintained a visual of the suspect vehicle until patrol officers were able to attempt a vehicle stop. The suspect vehicle failed to yield to Officers and a pursuit was not initiated. In coordination with AIR3, patrol Officers located the suspect vehicle after the suspect parked and fled on foot into the city of Campbell. Patrol officers responded to the suspects location and were ultimately able to apprehend the suspect without incident. The suspect was booked into jail for evading Officers, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and an out of county arrest warrant. On September 25, 2023, a partial plate was obtained for a hit and run incident. Dispatch found a Flock hit that matched the vehicle description by using this partial plate. Patrol officers were sent to the registered owners address and took the suspect into custody. On September 10, 2023, AIR3 located a stolen vehicle it was alerted to via the Flock ALPR system. The vehicle occupants observed AIR3 and the five occupants fled the vehicle on-foot prior to ground units arriving. Special Operations and Patrol ground units, with assistance from AIR3, were able to locate and arrest four of the five vehicle occupants, all of which were juveniles. The juveniles are suspects in approximately 60 vehicle break ins. The juveniles were booked into Juvenile Hall for multiple on-view charges and the stolen vehicle was impounded.
