Recent Success Story
24WHI-15657 On June 5, 2024 our agency was contacted by the Lawrence Police Department, out of Indianapolis, Indiana, regarding a violent felon. The male suspect was stopped for a traffic violation by Lawrence PD, and fled after assaulting the officer. The male was traveling with a female passenger, and as they fled, they attempted to strike the officer with their car, hitting the officers cruiser in the process. The couple then drove to a nearby neighborhood, committed a burglary, and stole a White, Honda, Odyssey. Lawrence PD advised us that the vehicle had alerted on one of our local Flock license plate readers at 8:16 am. Whitehall officers canvassed the area and located the vehicle at a local business after receiving a second Flock license plate reader alert at 10:13 am. Officers blocked the vehicle in and the couple was taken into custody without further incident. 24-15431 On June 2, 2024 an officer was able to locate a wanted male after a FLOCK hit, and arrested him on warrants out of Florida for four counts of molestation of a child under the age of 12. Absent this system, this guy would likely have transited our city without our knowledge or maybe even committed additional crimes in the community. The officer was also able to recover a substantial number of electronic devices that likely contain evidence of these crimes. 23-15750-AR Our New RAVEN shot spotter notified us of 3 gunshots in the area of 162 Beechbank. Officers were on their way when we received a call of a person discharging a firearm at 147 Beechbank. An intoxicated female, who was upset with her family, was arrested for Tampering with evidence, using weapons while intoxicated, DV Threats, Aggravated Menacing, and endangering children. 23-8110- FLOCK HIT on a stolen car taken out of a burglary. Female driver arrested after parking and entering a local store. Male passenger entered a separate store with a firearm and committed a robbery before officers could question him in regards to the stolen car. The male also had a good F-2 robbery warrant. Two great arrests making Whitehall, and the surrounding area, a safer place. 23-4770-AR This was a Flock hit on a stolen car taken out of an armed robbery in Columbus. Officers located it on Langley and followed it to Main and Hamilton where it was successfully blocked in. The driver, age 18, was extracted from the car and found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. Upon obtaining the CPD stolen report, we learned the driver matched the description of the suspect in the carjacking. The victim was a disabled veteran who was pistol whipped several times during the robbery. The driver was charged with receiving stolen property, CCW, and improper handling. A CPD robbery detective responded to headquarters and interviewed the driver about the carjacking. The use of force for this incident is pending. Great job to all involved. 23-7378-AR/AAR Detectives located a stolen vehicle on Andrus Ave. out of a FLOCK hit. Detectives followed the vehicle around the city until it came back to Andrus and parked. The occupants never exited the vehicle and when we were about to move in on it, it pulled away. The vehicle spotted the cruisers waiting to move in and it fled. Detectives successfully deployed a spike strip and the stolen vehicle crashed into another occupied vehicle. The occupants of the stolen vehicle fled. Detectives did apprehend the driver. Minor injuries were sustained by the occupants of the stolen vehicle and the community member who was struck. Great work by everyone involved. Abduction from Sunday 3/12 flock identified the car used in the abduction and was able to determine the suspect. 23-4500-AR Officers located a stolen vehicle from a Flock hit and were able to successfully take it down on the lot of Turkey Hill. The driver was in possession of a loaded firearm and also had an indictment for a prior gun charge.
